Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU)

Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) is a secondary process for lighting the heavy oil. Typical FCC units have run times of five or six years which puts even more emphasis on refractory planning and installation. From installation, controlling the rate of temperature change, and minimizing rapid fluctuations are critical. This will extend the life of the FCC Unit.

The fluid catalytic cracker, or cat unit, is made up of six major sections. This includes the reactor & regenerator, transfer lines, internal cyclones, slide valves, overhead lines, and the distribution rig/grid. Just snip-off the tip of the ready-to-use caulking tube and apply the moist material using a hand or air powered caulking gun. Heat loss through joints and cracks will be reduced. Fine particles will not accumulate in those openings, preventing further damage to the lining. The surface of 22 CAULK will harden when exposed to air.
