Steel - Importance of Refractory

What does the steel, aluminum, cement, glass, lime, paper, and petrochemical industries all have in common? They all need refractories. Refractory products are a material that resists decomposition through heat, pressure or chemical attack in high temperatures.

Typical refractory withstands temperatures up to 3400ºF. To put this in perspective lava reaches a maximum temperature around 2200ºF and a campfire around 2000ºF.

How hot does a fire get based on the color?

Red Fire (1000ºF – 1800ºF)
Orange-Yellow Fire (2000ºF)
White Fire (2400ºF – 2700ºF)
Blue Fire (2600ºF – 3000ºF)

How important are refractories? If we didn’t have refractory products the production of aluminum wouldn’t be possible. Aluminum is utilized within most industries and applications including, architecture, automotive, locomotive, electrical, aerospace, shipping, packaging, etc. Creating items we use daily like power lines, ladders, nails, computer parts, golf clubs, doors, furniture, cars, pop cans, and more.

Resco Products is continuously investing in its equipment, procedures, software, and people to create refractory for all industries. On a daily basis, our engineers, electricians, and mechanics at our manufacturing locations are key in maintaining the quality of product and service. With our great team, Resco creates high-quality refractories that help build our society.
