Torpedo Ladle Car and Refractory Products
Torpedo Cars, also known as hot metal cars, are utilized as iron transfer cars. They have a residence time of two to four hours or longer. More recently torpedo cars have been utilized for molten metal treatments such as de-sulfurization and de-siliconization. The torpedo car transfers molten iron (pig iron) from the blast furnace to the steelmaking facility. Both processes require refractories to withstand high temperatures and a greater number of chemical reactions. Resulting in a greater impact on the refractory present.
Common Resco products utilized in a torpedo car consists of Krial CFB, Rescal 70D, and Seneca 60P. Our experts will ensure you're getting the right refractory products for the job.
