A ladle furnace (LF) utilizes the roof and most like a typical EAF utilizing an 8 to 25 megavolt ampere transformer, three electrodes for arc heating with the ladle acting as the furnace shell. Ladle furnaces are utilized to relieve the primary melter of secondary refining. This process creates a layer of slag that protects the refractory from arc damage and transfers heat to the liquid steel. During the process argon or electromagnetic stirring is applied for better heat transfer.
Resco Products evaluates the conditions in which your furnace operates and identifies any stress points to determine the best products and processes for your application.
