News Update for Glass Market
We would like to update you on the current status of Resco Products with a recap of the progress made in the past several months and our commitment for the future.
Since the acquisition of National Refractories assets in December 2002, Resco has moved all acquired materials from National plants and facilities to Resco facilities, including finished goods, raw materials, plant equipment, and research, engineering and sales files. Resco has also hired certain former National employees to supplement their existing workforce to assure a smooth conversion from the National processes to Resco facilities, unbroken coverage of existing customers and to pursue additional business opportunities.
Naturally, this transition period has created some expected logistic issues, but we have made tremendous progress in this short period of time and are committed to being the best supplier of products to the industries that we service.
Resco is committed to manufacturing quality products, whether products that were already in the family of Resco products or those acquired from National Refractories. We are using the best resources available to ensure that we supply the same quality that you had received in the past.
For the glass industry, we are not limited to the National product line. In the early part of 2000, Resco acquired certain assets from Harbison Walker, as they were required to divest themselves of facilities and products at the time of the RHI purchase. Several of those products, such as Oxiline H and Topex S have well established names in the glass industry.
Resco also acquired equipment to manufacture the HPC checker block. This will allow us to compete directly against other manufacturers for this business. We will also continue to manufacture the National Interweave checker block giving us 2 options for supplying modular checker settings.
We have implemented a plan to make all the National products, except fireclay brick, to meet your requirements. We have a plan to evaluate the products, using in house testing as well as outside agencies.
The primary product list we offer to the glass industry includes:
