Resco is a privately owned company with headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Resco has been known as a leader in the specialty or monolithic refractories industry.

Since 2000, Resco has become a new company through strategic acquisitions of assets from three refractory competitors.

On March 3, 2000, Resco's purchase of assets divested by RHI Refractories America was completed.

On December 17, 2002, Resco Products, Inc., acquired certain assets of National Refractories and Minerals Corporation.

On March 17, 2006, Resco Products, Inc., acquired Worldwide Refractories and their operating plant in Tarentum, PA.

In December 2006, Resco completed the purchases of Refco and New Castle Refracories.

In June 2007, Resco purchased Shenango Advanced Ceramics.

Resco has, over its history and continuing today, developed and maintained significant research and technical capabilities in refractory specialty and brick products. This has allowed Resco to establish leadership market share positions in several application and product areas.
